Abstract:
This sensing device is for detecting the presence of an edge and has improved edge detection accuracy. This sensing device is provided with: a level control circuit; a comparison circuit; and an edge determination circuit. In this sensing device, the level control circuit increases or decreases the signal level of one of a pair of pixel signals by a prescribed gain. The comparison circuit compares the pixel signals, the signal level of one of which being increased or decreased, and outputs the comparison result. The edge determination circuit determines the presence of an edge on the basis of the comparison result.
