Abstract:
This sensor element 101 detects a specific gas concentration in a to-be-measured gas, and comprises: an element body (each layer 1-6) including an oxygen-ion conductive solid electrolyte layer and having, therein, a to-be-measured gas circulation unit for introducing and circulating the to-be-measured gas; a main pump cell 21 which includes an inner pump electrode 22 disposed in a first inner space 20 of the to-be measured gas circulation unit and a pump outer electrode 23p disposed outside the element body, and pumps out oxygen from the first inner space 20 or pumps oxygen into the first inner space 20; and a Vref detection sensor cell 83 which includes a voltage outer electrode 23s disposed outside the element body and a reference electrode 42 disposed inside the element body so as to come into contact with a reference gas introduced into a reference gas introduction unit 49 and generates a voltage Vref based on the oxygen concentration in the to-be-measured gas outside the element body.
