Abstract:
This serial communication system is equipped with: a main control circuit unit; a pair of serial interface circuits which constitute a full-duplex block communication circuit which performs full-duplex communication for simultaneously transmitting and receiving downlink communication information and uplink communication information on the basis of a communication permission signal and a communication synchronization signal; and a monitoring control circuit unit which is connected to the main control circuit unit via the pair of serial interface circuits, sequentially and regularly transmits question information about the main control circuit unit to the main control circuit unit, and determines whether or not there is an abnormality in the main control circuit unit by comparing correct answer information with the answer information from the main control circuit unit in response to said question information. When starting up, the monitoring control circuit unit stores a first fixed setting constant included in the downlink communication information in a memory. The monitoring control circuit unit transmits, to the main control circuit unit, uplink communication information which includes: a second setting constant which includes the first fixed setting constant stored in the memory; the question information for this transmission; and encoded inspection information. After starting up, the main control circuit unit transmits, to the monitoring control circuit unit, downlink communication information which includes: a first setting constant which includes a first variable setting constant and from which the first fixed setting constant has been removed; answer information to the question information obtained from the previous uplink communication information; and encoded inspection information.
