Abstract:
A serial type charging and discharging device according to the present invention is for charging and discharging a plurality of battery cells connected in series, and comprises: a tray; a cooling fan; a power source; a charging and discharging control board; and a control unit. A charging and discharging control algorithm mounted in the control unit comprises first to N-th charging and discharging steps (wherein N is an integer from 2 to 10), wherein each charging and discharging step is configured to perform charging and discharging in a constant current mode and gradually reduce a charging and discharging current value. The serial charging and discharging device according to the present invention performs a plurality of charging and discharging steps in a constant current mode, and is configured to reduce a charging and discharging current value of each charging and discharging step, thereby having an effect similar to charging and discharging in a constant voltage mode. Also, since there is no need to repeat charging and discharging in a constant voltage mode as many as the number of batteries connected in series, the time required for charging and discharging may be reduced.
