Abstract:
A series arc detection device (1) comprises: a current detection unit (2) which detects a current flowing through an electric path (6); a signal extraction unit (3) which extracts, from the current, an analog signal containing a frequency band on which a frequency component caused by a series arc is superimposed; an A/D conversion unit (4) which converts the analog signal to a digital signal; and a series arc detection unit (5) which calculates an index from a first index variable that is based on at least one frequency component in a first frequency band of a power spectrum obtained on the basis of the digital signal, and a second index variable that is based on at least one frequency component in a second frequency band of a power spectrum, the series arc detection unit detecting the presence/absence of the occurrence of a series arc on the basis of a plurality of indices.
