A series battery protection circuit, comprising: multiple stages of battery modules (11, 12,... 1n) that are connected in series between a positive electrode (PK+) and a negative electrode (PK-) of a battery pack and all comprise single batteries (Bat1, Bat2,... Batn), protection switches (K1, K2,... Kn), and single battery protection modules (111, 121,... 1n1), the single batteries and the protection switches (K1, K2,... Kn) being connected in series, and the single battery protection modules (111, 121,... 1n1) generating turn-off signals and protecting the current battery modules (11, 12,... 1n) on the basis of the turn-off signals; a turn-off signal level shift module (2), used for transmitting a turn-off signal of any stage of battery module to other stages of battery modules; and a voltage transient suppression module (3), connected between the positive electrode (PK+) and the negative electrode (PK-) of the battery pack and used for absorbing spike voltage and slowing down the change speed of total voltage between the positive electrode (PK+) and the negative electrode (PK-) of the battery pack. The present invention reliably achieves the function of protecting a high-voltage series battery on the basis of a low-voltage-withstanding charge-discharge switching device, such that the whole series battery is protected, each series battery is also protected, the safety performance is high, and costs are low.
