Abstract:
A servo power steering system and a control method thereof are provided. The servo power steering system comprises a steering wheel (1), a first steering shaft (2), a second steering shaft (3), a speed reducer (4), a steering mechanism (5) and wheels (6). The steering wheel (1) is connected to one end of the first steering shaft (2), the other end of which is connected to the second steering shaft (3). The speed reducer (4) is disposed on the second steering shaft (3) connected with the wheels (6) via the steering mechanism (5). Position detecting devices (7a,7b,7c) are provided on the first steering shaft (2), the second steering shaft (3) and the shaft of a servo motor (10), and transmit the detected rotation input signals of rotating shafts to a servo controller (9), which controls the servo motor (10) to drive the speed reducer (4) and to steer the wheels (6) via the steering mechanism (5). The invention has lowering energy consumption, low cost and a simple structure, and can ensure reliability and safety. The system has quick response and can provide optimum power assistance, and the steering force by a driver is small and always constant, thus keeping the steering wheel steady.
