Abstract:
Provided is a safer settlement system which replaces a credit card-based settlement system. The settlement system has user terminals, a settlement device, and settlement terminals. First, at the user terminal 100, a user ID, a password, and maximum money amount information specifying a money amount are input (S912) and sent to the settlement device (S913). Upon performing credit determination (S922), the settlement device generates temporary approval information (S923) when the credit is feasible and sends the information to the user terminal (S924). The user terminal generates a one-time password (S915). The one-time password is input to the settlement terminal (S931). When the one-time password sent from the settlement terminal to the settlement device is identical to a one-time password generated by the settlement device, the settlement device authorizes the user payment (S928).
