Abstract:
A sewing machine (100) is provided with: a sewing needle (11) having a needle hole in which a needle thread is inserted; a shuttle having a tip in which the needle thread is captured, whereby the needle thread and a bobbin thread are entwined; a balance (13) having a small hole in which the needle thread is inserted, the small hole being raised from bottom dead center to top dead center, whereby the needle thread is pulled up from an article being sewn, which is to be the sewing product; a center presser (15) for preventing the article being sewn from lifting up; and a drive source for driving the center presser (15) so that the center presser (15) is stopped at a fixed height during the period in which the small hole is rising along with the action of the balance (13) after the shuttle has released the capture of the needle thread.
