Abstract:
A shared inter-ring network structure, and a method of forwarding an inter-ring service. The ring network structure comprises: an ingress ring; an egress ring, and a service tunnel carrying an inter-ring service stream. The ingress ring comprises an ingress tunnel and a first protection tunnel. The egress ring comprises an egress tunnel and a second protection tunnel. The ingress ring further comprises a primary backup tunnel and third protection tunnel, both connecting from a primary inter-ring node to a backup inter-ring node.
