Abstract:
The present invention suppresses scattering, to the outside, of substances to be removed when the substances to be removed are extracted. This sheet manufacturing device is provided with: a sheet forming unit that forms sheets from waste paper that is a material containing fibers; and a collection box 261 that accommodates the substances to be removed from the waste paper, said substances having been collected since they have not been used in sheet manufacturing. This sheet manufacturing device is further provided with: a capturing blower 28 that functions as a suction unit capable of suctioning air in the collection box 261 from outside the collection box 261; and a control unit 150 that functions as a suction control unit that causes the capturing blower 28 to suction air in the collection box 261 when the substances to be removed are extracted from the collection box 261.
