Abstract:
A method of easily manufacturing, using a thin disk steel sheet blank, a sheet metal member in a form that an annular projection (3) is raised concentrically at least on one surface of a circular substrate part (1), in fewer processes, without material loss, and at a low cost, comprising the steps of, while rotating a blank (10) having an outer peripheral part (10a) thereof increased in wall thickness in a previous process and being sandwiched between an upper die (14) and a lower die (15), pressing a ridge corner part (16a) on the outer peripheral surface of an ironing roll (16) against one surface of the thickened outer peripheral part (10a) of the blank (10) extending beyond the upper die (14) to the outside and, while rotating and moving the ironing roll (16) in the direction of the center of the blank, ironing the plate thickness of the thickened outer peripheral part (10a) so that the annular projection (3) is axially raised for formation.
