Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a sheet molding compound that has excellent stretchability and in which it is possible to control resin fluidity at an end section during compression molding; and a method for manufacturing the same. The present invention uses a sheet molding compound obtained by impregnating a resin composition into reinforcing fibers, the sheet molding compound being characterized in that the proportion (X1) of reinforcing fibers having an orientation of less than or equal to 30° from among reinforcing fibers included in a portion (A1) within 20 mm from an end section thereof is 28-90%.
