Abstract:
A loading unit moves a sheet in a lengthwise direction so as to be fed into a stacking unit. A lower-side conveying unit makes up at least part of a bottom of the stacking unit, and imparts force to a lower side of a sheet stacked on the stacking unit so as to move in the lengthwise direction. An elevating unit elevates at least an end portion of the lower-side conveying unit on a side near to the loading unit to at least three stages of a lower stage that is appropriate in a case in which the handled sheet length is a first length that is shorter than the distance from the loading unit to a discharge unit, a medium stage that is appropriate in a case in which the handled sheet length is a second length that is longer than the first length, and an upper stage that is appropriate in a case in which the sheet is to be discharged. An upper-side conveying unit faces the lower-side conveying unit, and imparts force to an upper side of the sheet nipped between itself and the lower-side conveying unit that has been moved to the upper stage by the elevating unit, so as to move in the lengthwise direction. A stopper protrudes above the lower-side conveying unit disposed at the lower stage by the elevating unit, and a downstream-side end portion of the sheet having the first length in the feeding direction thereof is abutted thereat.
