Provided are a ship thruster (100), a ship (200), and a control method for a ship thruster (100). The ship thruster (100) comprises: a rack (1), provided with an underwater suspension part (11), the underwater suspension part (11) being provided with a driving rotary shaft (12); a propeller (2), connected to the driving rotary shaft (12); and a duct (3), connected to the rack (1), at least part of the duct (3) being movable relative to the propeller (2) so as to present a flow guide form or an open form. When the duct (3) is in the flow guide form, the duct (3) surrounds the propeller (2) and is arranged to be coaxial with the propeller (2); when the duct (3) is in the open form, the duct (3) is located on the water surface, and at least partially forms a wave-pressing structure. By providing the duct (3) movable relative to the propeller (2) and having adjustable positions on the basis of different rotation speeds of the propeller (2) so as to present the flow guide form and the open form, a propulsion structure quickly switches between a ducted propeller and a common propeller, thereby causing the ship thruster (100) to be matched with different load conditions in a timely manner so as to greatly improve the propulsion efficiency of the ship thruster (100).
