Abstract:
In a ship 1 having a stern duct 10, which is configured to have a duct member 11 and duct support members 12, 13 for supporting this duct member 11 on a ship body 2, disposed immediately in front of a propeller 3, the shape of a rear edge part of the duct member 11 is such that middle connecting sections 11c are provided between an upper arc section 11a and a lower arc section 11b. This configuration provides a ship having a stern duct disposed immediately in front of a propeller in which a thrust generating portion of a stern duct that can generate thrust by using the wake of the ship body can be increased and in which the thrust generated by the stern duct can be improved compared with a circular stern duct.
