Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a shock absorber capable of further improving the ride comfort of a vehicle. [Solution] According to the present invention, a pilot orifice part 101 is configured such that a first orifice 131 having a smaller flow passage area than conventional fixed orifices, and a second orifice 134 arranged in parallel to the first orifice 131 are provided on the upstream side of a pilot valve 68 in a pilot passage 35, and an oil liquid is circulated through the second orifice 134 by opening a check valve 117. The flow passage area of the first orifice 131 is formed smaller than the flow passage areas of the conventional fixed orifices, and it is thus possible to reduce a damping force during the opening of a main valve in the soft-side damping force characteristic of an expansion stroke, and to further improve the ride comfort of a vehicle.
