Abstract:

This shock absorbing structure for vehicles comprises: a resin frame member extending in the vehicle front/rear direction and having an opening on a surface on one side in the vehicle width direction; and a bracing member arranged in the opening of the frame member. The frame member has: a frame main body having the opening; and a rib that protrudes from the frame main body in at least either the upward or downward direction and extends in the vehicle front/rear direction. The bracing member is arranged at a position that is between a pair of opening edge sections defining the vertical edges of the opening and can abut against the pair of opening edge sections when the frame member is deformed by load input from an upward oblique or downward oblique collision.
