Abstract:
This short circuit detection device for a rotating electric machine comprises: a signal acquiring unit; a signal decomposition unit; a specific frequency component reduction unit; a signal conversion unit; a short circuit detection unit; and an estimation accuracy determination unit. The signal decomposition unit decomposes a voltage signal acquired by the signal acquiring unit into a plurality of frequency components having orders different from each other. The specific frequency component reduction unit sets an order lower than the fundamental order of slot harmonics as a threshold and reduces the frequency components of odd orders and the frequency components of even orders higher than the threshold among the plurality of frequency components. The signal conversion unit converts the plurality of frequency components output from the specific frequency component reduction unit into voltage signals. The short circuit detection unit generates a difference waveform between the respective voltage signals corresponding to adjacent magnetic poles and, on the basis of the shape of the difference waveform, detects a short circuit of a field winding and estimates the short circuit position of the field winding. The estimation accuracy determination unit determines the estimation accuracy of the short circuit position of the field winding on the basis of the symmetry degree of the waveform of the maximum wave about a peak angle of the difference waveform.
