Abstract:
The present production method comprises: (I) a step of preparing, by a 3D-printing method, a first molded body containing SiC particles, wherein the first molded body has a first mean pore diameter M1; (II) a step of bringing the first molded body into contact with a dispersion solution containing carbon particles to form a second molded body having the carbon particles impregnated in the pores, wherein, with M2 representing the mean particle diameter of the secondary particles, the carbon particles fulfill M2 ≤ M1/10; and (III) a step of impregnating metallic Si into the second molded body and causing reactive sintering of the second molded body, thereby obtaining an SiC-Si composite member. The SiC-Si composite member obtained after step (III) contains Si in a range of 5% by mass to 40% by mass.
