Abstract:
The β-sialon phosphor particles according to the present invention have europium incorporated in solid solution. If the element concentration of Si atoms in the surface portion of the phosphor particles found by analysis of a cross section of said particles with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy is defined as Ps (at%), and the element concentration of Si atoms near the center of said particles found by analysis using the same method is defined as Pc (at%), the value of Pc − Ps is 3 at% or greater.
