Abstract:
A signal control system is provided with: a means for assessing passage possibility that is capable of acquiring an image of a road from a camera disposed near the road in an area being controlled and, on the basis of an abnormality in the image captured by the camera, assesses whether a road section that starts at an intersection is passable; and, a signal control means for controlling a traffic light at an intersection that includes the road section, so as to deter traffic from entering an impassable section.
