The present invention relates to a signal processing device and a vehicle display device having same. The signal processing device according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises a processor for processing a signal for a display installed in a vehicle. The processor executes a first virtual machine, a second virtual machine, and a third virtual machine on a hypervisor in the processor, the second virtual machine operating for a first display, and the third virtual machine operating for a second display. The first virtual machine in the processor: generates a virtual overlay; changes the layer order or the display area of the virtual overlay; and transmits the changed virtual overlay or the information relating to the changed virtual overlay to the second virtual machine or the third virtual machine such that the changed virtual overlay is displayed on the first display or the second display. Therefore, the display order and the display area of a plurality of overlays may be changed.
