Disclosed is a signal transmission apparatus, comprising a signal transmission circuit, a shell, a cavity provided in the shell, an energy collection circuit and a piezoelectric sheet arranged in the cavity. Also disclosed is a signal transmission method. The method comprises the following steps: S1, a piezoelectric sheet receiving an applied pressure; S2, the piezoelectric sheet converting the applied pressure into electric energy; S3, the energy collection circuit collecting the electric energy, and outputting a voltage to the signal transmission circuit when the electric energy reaches a specific value; and S3, the signal transmission circuit receiving the voltage so as to start working, and sending information to the exterior. The pressure is converted into the electric energy by the piezoelectric sheet; the energy collection circuit collects the electric energy, and when the electric energy reaches the specific value, outputs a voltage for the signal transmission circuit to send information; and a device terminal receives the information and executes a corresponding action. Provided are a signal transmission apparatus and method, requiring no battery, being convenient for maintenance and management, having a relatively far transmission distance, and having good economic and social benefits.
