Abstract:
The present invention provides a silicon carbide honeycomb filter which comprises: honeycomb segments, each of which has partition walls that define cells which form a plurality of flow channels that extend in the axial direction between end faces, a plugged portion which alternately seals the end faces of the cells in a checker pattern, and an outer peripheral wall; a bonding material layer that is filled into a grid-like gap between the honeycomb segments so as to bond the honeycomb segments with each other; and an outer cover that encloses the bonded honeycomb segments. This silicon carbide honeycomb filter is characterized in that the thickness of the outer peripheral wall is more than 1.5 times but not more than 9 times the thickness of the partition walls.
