A silicon rod grinding machine. In the silicon rod grinding machine, a coarse grinding device (5) and a fine grinding device (6) are respectively provided at a first processing location and a second processing location of a silicon rod processing platform, a first transferring device (3) and a second transferring device (4) passing through the first processing location and the second processing location at the same time are provided, and the first transferring device and the second transferring device are each equipped with a silicon rod clamp and a driving mechanism. Also disclosed is a silicon rod grinding method. By means of coordinated control of the first transferring device and the second transferring device as well as the coarse grinding device and the fine grinding device, both the coarse grinding device and the fine grinding device of the silicon rod grinding machine are in a working state at the same time, so that the grinding operation efficiency is greatly improved while the size specifications and the cost of the silicon rod grinding machine are maintained, the time consumed for grinding operation is shortened, and the economic benefit is improved.
