Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a method capable of producing a silicone-coated filler that is capable of yielding sufficient viscosity-reducing effects when dispersed in a silicone resin. The method comprises a first step for reacting a first silicone material comprising multiple SiH groups with the surface of a particulate material formed from alumina, and a second step for subsequently addition-reacting a second silicone material comprising a terminal vinyl group. The SiH groups are capable of reacting with OH groups on the surface of the alumina, and strongly bond to the surface of the particulate material. In the second step, the second silicone material is bonded to the first silicone material. In this way, the first silicone material and the second silicone material can be strongly bonded in that order to the surface of the particulate material, and the produced silicone-coated filler is capable of yielding sufficient viscosity-reducing effects when dispersed in a silicone resin (control: test example 1; present invention: test examples 3–5; comparative examples: test examples 2 and 6).
