Abstract:
A silicone monomer which has a high purity and is suitable for use in producing ophthalmic devices; and a contact lens formed using the silicone monomer as a polymerizable ingredient. The silicone monomer is represented by formula (1). In the formula, Y1 to Y9 each independently represents a C1-4 alkyl; n is an integer of 0-3; a and b each independently is 0 or 1; and R represents a hydrogen atom or methyl.
