Abstract:
Provided are: an oil compound which has excellent prolonged antifoaming capabilities, which, in particular, has good initial antifoaming properties even in an alkaline foam liquid, and which has little degradation over time; and an antifoaming composition containing the oil compound. A silicone oil compound (A) for an antifoaming agent is a cross-linked product of components (a) and (b), (a) being 100 parts by mass of a hydrophobic organopolysiloxane having a viscosity at 25°C of 10-100,000 mm2/s, and (b) being 1-15 parts by mass of a fine powder silica. The silicone oil compound for an antifoaming agent is characterized in that in a grain size distribution of an organopolysiloxane-silica crosslinked product, obtained by measuring a substance in which the oil compound is diluted with toluene by using a single particle optical sizing (SPOS) method, the median diameter in a volume-standard particle size standard is 5-25 μm.
