Abstract:
The present invention provides a separator for nonaqueous secondary batteries, said separator comprising a silicon-containing (Si-containing) molecule. With respect to an Si-containing image of this separator for nonaqueous secondary batteries as detected by time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (TOF-SIMS), the Voronoi area (mu) of the most frequent ones among Voronoi polygons that are obtained by Voronoi tessellation of the Si-containing image is within the range of from 1.0 μm2 to 17.5 μm2 or within the range of from 6.0 μm2 to 12.0 μm2, and the spread (σ) of the Voronoi area frequency distribution of the Si-containing image as detected by TOF-SIMS is within the range of from 0.5 μm2 to 8.5 μm2.
