Abstract:
[Problem] The present invention addresses the problem of providing a method that enables easy manufacturing of silver nanowires that have an average diameter smaller than those obtained from conventional methods and in which the proportion of large diameter silver nanowires is reduced. [Solution] This method is for manufacturing silver nanowires from a silver salt, by using the silver salt, a halide salt, and a growth control agent in a polyol, and is characterized by further using, as a furanone derivative (a), at least one selected from the group consisting of α-angelicalactone, phthalide, and a compound represented by general formula (1) (in general formula (1), R1 and R3 each represent a hydrocarbon having 1-4 carbon atoms, R2 represents a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyl group, an alkoxyl group having 1-4 carbon atoms, or a acyloxy group having 2-6 carbon atoms).
