Abstract:
A simple planetarium apparatus which is produced at a cost lower than optical planetariums of conventional art and easy to handle, projects a starry sky sharper and more beautiful than that of planetarium apparatuses of pin-hole type, does not use any special dome screen, and can easily reproduces a starry sky in a home environment. The light emitted from a light source (6) passes through a condenser lens (5), a light-transmitting original plate (3), a fixed stop (2), and a wide-angle projection lens (1) and shows a starry sky on a screen. The light-transmitting original plate (3) is a light-shielding circular plate having a large number of light-transmitting holes (3a) corresponding to the positions and luminances of the real stars, is supported by an inner ring of a ball bearing (4) the center of which is a rotary shaft, rotatable around the rotary shaft (10), and driven by a motor (8) through a belt (7). The centers of the projection lens (1), the window of the fixed stop (2), the condenser lens (5), and the light source (6) are all aligned with the optical axis (9) and the centers of the light-transmitting original plate (3), a pulley (11), and ball bearing (4) are aligned with the rotary shaft (10).
