Abstract:
Provided is a single-core bi-directional optical subassembly (BOSA) capable of achieving downsizing while improving wavelength separation characteristics of multiplexing/demultiplexing filters. The BOSA (1) is provided with a housing (10), an optical receptacle (11), a multiplexing/demultiplexing filter (12), a reception-side photoelectric conversion unit (13), a transmission-side photoelectric conversion unit (14), an isolator (15), and a collimate lens (16). The multiplexing/demultiplexing filter (12) is disposed on an optical path between the optical receptacle (11) and the transmission-side photoelectric conversion unit (14) and on an optical path between the optical receptacle (11) and the reception-side photoelectric conversion unit (13). The isolator (15) allows permeation of a light signal outputted from the transmission-side photoelectric conversion unit (14), but blocks a light signal traveling toward the transmission-side photoelectric conversion unit (14). The collimate lens (16) is disposed at a position so as to fit within the external size of the housing (10) and collimates light entering the multiplexing/demultiplexing filter (22).
