Abstract:
Provided is a sliding component having excellent lubrication performance. An annular sliding component 6 arranged at a location of a rotary machine where relative rotation occurs, wherein a sliding surface S of the sliding component 6 is provided with dynamic pressure generation grooves 15, one end of which forms a closed end 15b and the other end of which forms an inlet 15a communicating with one side, that is, a sealed-fluid side or a leakage side in the radial direction. On the sliding surface S an inlet 16a of deep grooves 16 which are deeper than the dynamic pressure generation grooves 15 is formed on the side of a side wall 15c, which is on the opposite side, in the circumferential direction, of a dynamic pressure generation wall 15d forming the dynamic pressure generation grooves 15, so as to communicate with the inlet 15a of the dynamic pressure generation grooves 15.
