Abstract:
Provided is a sliding component that facilitates the leading in or leading out of fluid in an interval space between a groove and an interconnecting space. Provided is the sliding component 10 in which a pair of sliding rings 10, 20 rotate relative to each other to partition a sealed fluid space S1 from a leakage space S2. A groove 13 that opens to the space S1 that is one of the sealed-fluid side and leakage side spaces is provided on a sliding surface 11 of one sliding ring 10. On an edge section 10e on the one space side of at least one of the pair of sliding rings 10, 20, provided is a sloping surface 6 that interconnects with a fluid space S10 formed between the groove 13 on the one sliding ring 10 and the other sliding ring 20 and that flares out toward the one space.
