Title:
SLIDING MATERIAL AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2006/008842
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Conventional sliding materials compounded with Bi have occasionally experienced burn-in at sliding parts that make high-speed rotation. It is intended to provide a sliding material free from any burn-in at sliding parts that make high-speed rotation and a process for producing the same. There is provided a sliding material containing 20 mass% or more of Bi, wherein a low-melting-point alloy of 200°C or below liquid phase line temperature is infiltrated in a porous region of Cu-Sn alloy. Bi-Sn alloy or Bi-In alloy is suitable for use as the low-melting-point alloy. A paste of low-melting-point alloy is superimposed on a porous region, and the low-melting-point alloy is melted to thereby effect infiltration thereof in the porous region.
