Abstract:
A slot-in type disc device which is made thinner by guiding the moving position of
a disc accurately when the disc is inserted or rejected thereby preventing the
disc from touching an objective lens. In the slot-in type disc device, a base main
body (10) and a lid constitute a chassis enclosure, a disc inserting opening (11)
for inserting the disc directly is formed on the front surface of the chassis enclosure,
a traverse base (30) is arranged on the front surface side of the base main body
(10), a pickup (32) for holding the traverse base (30) is arranged on the outer
circumferential side of the base main body (10) at the time of stand-by, the traverse
base (30) is provided with a traverse base cover (30A), a protective cover (30B)
is provided on the upper surface of the traverse base cover (30A) on the outer circumferential
side, the protective cover (30B) is arranged at a position not overlapping the
disc when the disc is placed on the traverse base (30), and a displacing means (30D)
for displacing the protective cover (30B) to the lid side is provided.
