SMART HELMET
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2015/162444
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A helmet system which is designed to ignite the vehicle for example bike (4), once the driver's (5) helmet is within range of the vehicle. The invention is designed for the safety of the driver (5), wherein the engine ignited only once the driver (5) brings the helmet within a specified circumference from the vehicle. The body of the vehicle for example bike (4), will serve as the frequency receiver (2) from the helmet. Once the frequency from the helmet has been detected, the driver (5) has to push the start button to start the engine. The invention discloses predetermined means for igniting the vehicle's engine, keyless.

Description:
SMART HELM ET

TECHNICAL FI ELD

[0001 ] The present invention falls broadly under the technical field of electro-mechanical engineering. More particularly the present invention is in the techn ical field of industrial veh icles, driven mobi le machinery, and automotives, where a method for igniting such veh icles' engines is achieved without a key . Such an ignition method is activated once the invention is within a specified range of the veh icle. It provides ease of access as well as safety to the operator.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] The present invention relates to a helmet system which is designed to turn on a vehicle, example: a Motorcycle (4) once the driver (5) brings the helmet with in range. Although the disclosed invention is simi lar to an automobile's keyless entry systems, the working principal remains different. Wh i le other types of "keyless" systems are known and presently used in other applications, these systems for various reasons are generally not suitable for automotive use. Accordingly, the primary objective of the present invention is to provide a keyless engine igniting system of industrial veh icles, driven mobi le mach inery, and automotives for example two wheeler vehicles such as bikes.

SUMMARY OF THE IN VENTION

[0003] The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a keyless engine igniting system for automotive, for example; two wheeler veh icles such a motorbikes (4) wh ich are usual ly driven with a helmet. The proposed helmet system will ensure that the driver brings the helmet thus providing safety to the driver. (5). It is also an object of the present invention to provide a keyless igniting system that automatically turns on the engine when the driver (5) brings the helmet within range of the vehicle. . The engine wil l ign ite only if the helmet is within the specified range from the veh icle. It is also an object of the invention to provide an ign iting system that is rel iable and yet relatively inexpensive to the manufactures. In general, the system according to the present invention comprises three basic components: a transmitter ( 1 ) or beacon, a receiver/controller (2) and a receiving antenna.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0004] Embodiments of the invention wil l now be described in relation to the drawings in wh ich :

Figure 1 represents a diagrammatic view il lustrating the appl ication of the present invention which i l lustrates a case of an engine ign iting system for a motorcycle (4) wh ich is coupled with the transm itter ( I ) in the helmet and receiver (2) in the motorcycle.

DETAILED DESCRI PTION OF TH E PREFERRED EM BODIM ENTS

[0005] A helmet system which is designed to ignite the engine of a veh icle, example: bike (4) once the helmet is within range. The body of the vehicle will serve as the frequency receiver (2) from the helmet. Once the frequency (3) from the helmet has been detected, the driver has to push the start button to start the engine. The invention discloses predetermined means for ign iting the veh icle' s engine, keyless. The system includes a portable beacon that is carried by a vehicle operator, a receiver/control ler (2) located in the vehicle and an antenna connected to the receiver/controller (2) for receiving an encoded transmission (3) from the beacon. The system is designed to automatically ignite the engine as the driver wears the safety helmet and pushes the start button. The invention is designed for the safety of the driver, wherein the engine ignited oniy once the driver brings the helmet within a specified circumference from the vehicle. The passive keyless engine igniting system further includes a program mode by wh ich the coded signal (3) can be sent from the beacon ( 1 ) to the receiver/control ler (2) in an encoded format. The receiver/controller (2) is originally synchronized with the signal of the beacon ( 1 ) when the system is in the program mode. In the said mode, the receiver/controller (2) can also resynchronize the identification code signal from the transm itter ( 1 ) with the clock in the receiver and store the identification code in the receiver/control ler. The program mode can also store a plural ity of identification and clock codes in the receiver (2).

[0006] Figure 1 represents a diagrammatic view illustrating the appl ication of the present invention wh ich illustrates an engine igniting system for a motorcycle. As previously mentioned, the present invention can be used in any automotive especially two- wheelers such as bikes (4). Wh ile energized, the transm itter ( 1 ) in the helmet continuously transm its a coded radio frequency signa l wh ich includes identi fication and function data and an error correction code. When the driver coines with in a range of the vehicle, the receiving antenna located on the veh icle magnetica l ly couples the transm itted beacon energy i nto the receiver/control ler (2). The receiver which is located in the vehicle is adapted to process the coded radio frequency signal received from the antenna and perform the function requested i f the identi fication code are determ ined to be val id where a val id code corresponds to the code programmed in the receiver(2).

[0007] While the above description constitutes the preferred embodiment of the invention, it must be appreciated that the invention is susceptible to modification, variation and change without departing from the scope or fair meaning of the accompanying claims.
