Abstract:
A smart key FOB that is a Passive Keyless Entry (PKE) device and also communicates with a security unit embedded inside the car. This smart key has a small touchscreen display with a fingerprint sensor and also has two application layers that are separated by the fingerprint authen¬ tication method. The first application layer is like a simple remote key FOB with Lock, Unlock, Open Trunk Door and Panic functionalities and is accessible easily. The second application layer is protected by fingerprint authentication and has more functionalities including; checking vehicle's status, remote start/stop engine command, remote climate control, remote lights control, remote horn control and checking vehicle's physical status. This smart key FOB also protects the car using ELS (Emergency Locking System) mode in danger cases like robbery or accessing vehicle by children.
