Abstract:
A snow-melting/antifreezing agent which comprises a potassium silicate as an active ingredient; and a potassium silicate which comprises a snow-melting/antifreezing agent and a nitrite as active ingredients. These snow-melting/antifreezing agents may optionally further contain an alkali metal salt and/or a lower alcohol. These snow-melting/antifreezing agents are safe for the environment and do not deteriorate concrete. They not only have the excellent ability to melt snow or ice and to prevent freezing, but have high profitability and are easy to handle.
