A socket assembly, comprising: a sleeve (11), provided with a mounting cavity (12) and a fixing part, the fixing part being used for being connected to an external device; a first block (16), provided in the mounting cavity (12), a gap allowing a steel wire rope to pass through being provided between the first block (16) and the inner wall of the mounting cavity (12), the first block (16) and the inner wall of the mounting cavity (12) each being provided with a corresponding extrusion surface, and when the steel wire rope passes through the gap and is subjected to tension, the first block (16) being capable of being driven to move relative to the sleeve (11) and the extrusion surface of the first block (16) and the extrusion surface of the mounting cavity (12) abutting against each other; and a pressure sensor, provided on the extrusion surface of the first block (16) or the extrusion surface of the mounting cavity (12) and used for measuring the extrusion force between the sleeve (11) and the first block (16) when the corresponding extrusion surfaces abut against each other. Also involved is a work machine. The socket assembly can implement a load weight measurement function of the work machine.
