Abstract:
A socket connector (2) having a detecting switch comprises an insulating body (20), a shield casing (50) covering the insulating body (20) and a detecting switch (60) mounted in the insulating body (20). The insulating body (20) includes a base (21) and a pinboard (22) having a first board surface (221) and a second board surface (222); an eSATA terminal set (30) having seven terminals side by side is mounted on the first board surface (221); an USB terminal set having nine terminals is mounted on the second board surface (222) and consists of a first USB terminal set (41) and a second USB terminal set (42), wherein five terminals arranged in a row of the first USB terminal set (41) are connected to the five middle terminals of the eSATA terminal set (30) separately to form a shared terminal structure. The shield casing (50) has a shared inserting room (51) which includes a first inserting room (52) for connecting an eSATA plug connector (9) and a second inserting room (53) for connecting an USB plug connector (10); the second inserting room (53) has a nonoverlapping part room (531) relative to the first inserting room (52). The detecting switch (60) includes a first detecting terminal (61) which has a projecting contact portion (615) extending into the nonoverlapping part room (531).
