Abstract:
Embodiments of a Master Evolved Node-B (MeNB), a software-defined network (SDN) switch, and methods for multiple bearer connectivity are generally described herein. The MeNB may receive, from a software-defined network (SDN) switch, a data packet to be forwarded to a User Equipment (UE) as part of a first Evolved Packet System (EPS) bearer between a Serving Gateway (S-GW) and the UE. The MeNB may transmit the data packet to the UE on a first radio bearer included in the first EPS bearer. The MeNB may further transmit, to the SDN switch, a configuration message to identify a second EPS bearer between the S-GW and the UE. The second EPS bearer may include a second radio bearer between the UE and a secondary Evolved Node-B (SeNB), and may exclude radio bearers between the UE and the MeNB.
