Abstract:
Disclosed is a solar energy absorber which exhibits high heat-resistance, high absorbency of solar light, has a large surface area and is easy to manufacture. A solar energy absorber (1) is provided with: a substrate (2) which is formed from tungsten; a metallic film (3) which is disposed on the surface of the substrate (2) and which is formed from tungsten; and a plurality of spherical bodies (4), which are spheres having a prescribed diameter and of which one part is embedded in the metallic film (3) and the remainder thereof protrudes from the metallic film (3), and which are formed from a transparent material having a prescribed refractive index. The product of the refractive index and the diameter of the spherical bodies (4) is almost equal to a specified wavelength in the wavelength range of solar light. It is preferable that the spherical bodies are formed from silicon oxide. When solar light is received on the surface of the metallic film (3) whereon the spherical bodies (4) are arranged, the solar light is resonated by the spherical bodies, and this resonation enables solar light absorbency to be increased.
