Abstract:
The present invention improves the picture quality in a solid-state image pickup device that performs differential amplification. A reference-side amplification transistor supplies a reference current dependent on a predetermined reference potential. A reading-side amplification transistor supplies, from the drain to the source, a signal current dependent on the difference between a gate potential and the reference potential. A pair of reset transistors initialize the gate potential and the reference potential. A potential control circuit controls the potential difference between the gate and the aforementioned drain to a predetermined value when the gate potential and the reference potential are initialized.
