Abstract:
This solid-state imaging device is provided with an AD conversion unit (40) for each row. The AD conversion unit (40) uses a first comparator (404) to narrow, bay way of a binary search, the range in which the voltage of an analog signal is included, to a voltage range corresponding to the difference between a first voltage (V1) and a second voltage (V2), performs first AD conversion for generating a first digital signal, i.e. a high-order part of a digital signal, on the basis of the result of the binary search, and performs second AD conversion for generating a second digital signal, i.e. the remaining low-order part of the digital signal, by measuring the time until the output of a second comparator (405) is inverted, on the basis of a ramp signal (Vramp) and the result of the binary search.
