Abstract:
This technology relates to a solid-state imaging device and a method for driving the same with which the occurrence of a blackout at a low reading speed can be avoided, and also relates to an electronic device. The solid-state imaging device comprises: a pixel array unit in which a plurality of pixels are arranged two-dimensionally in a matrix; and a control unit that exposes all the pixels of the pixel array unit at the same exposure timing and performs thinning readout, in which all of the pixels are thinned by 1/N, for 2(N-1) times, so as to readout the charges of all of the pixels of the pixel array unit which were generated at the same exposure timing. The present technology can be applied to, for example, a solid-state imaging device to be incorporated in an imaging device.
