Title:
SOLID-STATE IMAGING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/052155
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Disclosed is a solid-state imaging device that comprises a plurality of pixel circuits (GC) with photovoltaic properties that include linear properties and logarithmic properties at the inflection point. The pixel circuits (GC) comprise a photoelectric conversion element (PD) that accumulates a signal charge by exposing a subject, and a floating diffusion (FD) that converts the signal charge accumulated by the photoelectric conversion element (PD) into a voltage signal. The amount of the operating charge of the floating diffusion (FD) is set to a smaller amount than the saturation charge of the photoelectric conversion element (PD).
