Abstract:
The present invention provides a process for producing a substance loaded with gold nanoparticles, the process being characterized by: impregnating a support with a gold/hydroxoanion complex solution constituted of a transparent solution that contains a trivalent-gold/hydroxoanion complex in which at least one of the ligands is OH- and the ligands include no halogen anion ligand and which has a planar quadrangular structure, that further contains a weakly acidic conjugated base not coordinated to the gold, that contains no halogen anion, and that has a pH of 8 or higher; thereafter removing the water therefrom; and subsequently subjecting the support to a heat treatment and then to water washing. According to this process for producing a gold nanoparticle catalyst using a liquid-phase method, it is possible to use a gold compound containing no halogen, e.g., chlorine, as a raw material to efficiently load the gold. Furthermore, a highly active catalyst loaded with gold nanoparticles can be obtained by the simple preparation method.
