Abstract:

A sorter for automatically sorting objects (14) which are sequentially continuously transported comprises a driving shaft (36), a main screw (30) which has a spiral groove (30a) to engage with the objects and transports the objects in line and is continuously rotated by the driving shaft, an annular groove portion (30d) which is formed continuously with the spiral groove of the main screw and temporarily retains the objects being transported, a rotatable sub-screw (32) which is provided at the position of the annular groove portion so as to branch from the main screw and has a spiral groove (32a) to selectively engage with the objects and transport them in line, a pusher (34) which is provided at the position of the annular groove portion and selectively transfers the objects from the main screw to the sub-screw, and a cam-type indexing device (40) to which the rotation of the driving shaft is transmitted and which synchronizes the transferring operation of the pusher and the rotary operation of the sub-screw. The sort can sort objects with strict accuracy and reliability at high speed without damaging the objects.
